Vision & Mission

Vision

All students at Potomac View Elementary School are seen as unique individuals, celebrated for their distinct strengths and abilities. Students achieve academic excellence and reach important social and emotional milestones in a learning community that thrives on encouragement, compassion, and respect. Students learn the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world by recognizing their personal strengths and abilities while learning to embrace their connection to the broader world. The school counselors at Potomac View Elementary support a culture of inclusivity and respect and believe all students have the potential to develop into empathetic, accountable global citizens who can positively influence the future.

Mission

The mission of the Potomac View Elementary School Counseling Program is to deliver a comprehensive, data-driven approach that supports the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students. Guided by the ASCA National Model, we empower students to be self-reflective, set high expectations, and embrace risk-taking. We believe that compassion, empathy, and respect are the cornerstones of a collaborative community, ensuring equitable access to opportunities for every student. By working closely with teachers and parents, we create a safe and supportive environment that inspires students to celebrate their unique identities while cultivating connections within our diverse community. Together, we promote lifelong success and prepare our students to thrive as compassionate, engaged global citizens.
